Tour Details

Day 1: Arrival at Paro

  • Witness the amazing part of Himalayan ranges as you land.
  • When descending, embrace the outstanding magnificence of Paro valley.
  • You may have heard about Bhutan being the only carbon negative country in the world, and you feel it as soon as you get out of the plane.
  • After proceeding with the formalities of visas and customs, our representative will be waiting for you.
  • Transfer to hotel
  • Evening take a Stroll around town’s main street.

Day 2: Paro

  • After breakfast, Visit Ta Dzong (National Museum) and then visit Rinpung Dzong.
  • Afternoon we will take you to visit Drukgyel Dzong, the ruined fortress which is now reconstructed.
  • Then we take a trail to let you experience the insight lifestyle of local people by visiting farm house.
  • In the evening, visit Kyichu Lakhang which is considered one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of Bhutan.

Day 3: Arrival at Paro – Thimphu (65 Km, 2hrs)

  • After breakfast, drive towards Thimphu, the capital city (1hour plus including a brief visit to Tachok Lhakhang).
  • En-route stops at Chuzom (confluence) where Thimphu and Paro Rivers join.
  • On the way we will stop at Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of Bhutan.
  • Upon arriving in Thimphu, visit to Memoral chorten (stupa) built in memory of his majesty the third king Jigme Dorji Wangchuk in 1974. followed by visit to Buddha point, where 51.5 meters tall Buddha Dordenma statue stands. It is considered one of the tallest statues of Buddha in the world.
  • Then in the evening Trashichhodzong (beautiful medieval fortress/monastery).
  • Before Dinner there will be an orientation on Bhutanese protocols by your assigned guide.

Day 4: Thimphu to Punakha (75km, 2hrs 30mins)

  • After breakfast visit to the folk heritage museum to experience the rich and unique culture and tradition which was practiced far back in time.
  • Visit to Textile museums and witness how ladies weave the traditional dresses.
  • Visit to Bhutan postal museums and perceive ages of different postal that Bhutan used.
  • Visit to Traditional medicine institute.
  • After lunch, Depart for Punakha.
  • On the way stop at Dochula pass (3100 m) for Photo taking and one can also see the enormous eastern Himalayan view such as Mt. Gangkar puensum, Mt. Tsendagang, Terigang, Jejegangphugang, Mt. & Mt. Masanggang (if weather permits).
  • Visit Punakha Dzong and Khamsum Yulley Namgyal temple.
  • And back to Punakha hotel for overnight

Day 5: Punakha to Wangduephodrang to Gangtey (70Km, 3hrs)

  • After breakfast we drive to Gangtey via Wangduephodrang.
  • Visit Wangdue Dzong and local market.
  • Further ahead pass through dense forests and oak, rhododendron tress.
  • Upon reaching Gangtey, walk around Gangtey village.
  • Then visit Gangtey Gompa, the only Nyingmapa monastery in the region.
  • Overnight at Camp/guest house.

Day 6: Gangtey to Trongsa (120 km, 4hrs 30mins)

  • In the morning we will take you around Phobjikha valley which is famous for Black Necked Cranes (migrates here from Tibet in harsh winters).
  • Then we begin our journey to Trongsa after lunch.
  • Pass by Pelela(pass) and Chendbji Chortan (stupa) on the way to Trongsa.
  • Upon arriving Trongsa, we prepare overnight stay in camp or lodge.

Day 7: Trongsa to Bumthang (68 km, 3hrs)

  • After Breakfast visit Trongsa Dzong and Ta Dzong.
  • Then drive to Bumthang and stop for a while at Yutong La Pass.
  • Enter Bumthang via Chumey valley, a beautiful cultivated valley.
  • On arrival Visit Jambey Lhakhang and then back to hotel.

Day 8: Bumthang 

  • Full day sightseeing with ease.
  • After breakfast Visit Kurje Lhakhang.
  • Visit Tamshing Monastery and then to Kenchosum Lhakhang and Jakar Dzong.
  • Stroll around the town of Bumthang.
  • Overnight at Bumthang lodge.

Day 9: Bumthang (Excursion to Ura valley)

  • After breakfast, we drive to Ura which takes one and half hour drive.
  • The route will ascents upward via amazing open countryside will less forest.
  • We will reach to Tang valley and then crosses Ura La pass (3,600m) with view of Mt. Gangkar Puensum.
  • The houses in Ura village (3,100m) are clustered which is quite unusual in Bhutan.
  • After that we return back to Bumthang.
  • Overnight at the lodge.

Day 10: Bumthang to Wangduephodrang (205 km, 7hrs)

  • After breakfast, visit Bumthang market.
  • We stop for lunch at one of the famous restaurant in Trongsa town.
  • Then drive to Wangdue.
  • Evening stroll around Wangdue town, visiting shops and local market.
  • Overnight at hotel in Wangduephodrang.

Day 11: Wangduephodrang to Paro (77km, 3hrs)

  • After breakfast visit Chimi lakhang and then journey towards Paro.
  • Stop for lunch at Dochula Druk Wangyel Cafeteria.
  • After lunch continue journey towards Paro.
  • On the way to Paro visit Simtokha Dzong.
  • Arrive at Paro and check into hotel.

Day 12: Paro

  • Visit to one of the hot spot destination, Paro Taktsang (Tiger Nest).
  • 800 meters and 5hrs hike till the Monastery including lunch and rest.
  • The hike is divided into three view stops:

1) Cafeteria view stop- take rest and have refreshments

2) Photo view stop – best stop to take photos of monastery

3) Final stop at monastery- get detailed explanations from guide

Note: Transportations like ponies will be available (individual has to bare their own cost)

  • Overnight at hotel.
